Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment in Thousand Oaks, CA

Empowering Recovery with Proven Care

At Lotus Recovery, we understand that substance use and mental health issues are complex and deeply personal. Our mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive care to individuals experiencing these challenges, helping them reclaim their lives and achieve lasting recovery. We offer a wide range of evidence-based and holistic treatment services tailored to meet the unique needs of each person.

Additionally, we have the support staff in place to ensure our treatment plans continue to meet the needs of our clients. We take into consideration their progress in our program, how well they are adapting to recovery and the challenges they face outside of treatment hours.

Recovery from substance use or mental health disorders is not linear. Setbacks do occur, and it’s important for us to equip individuals with the tools they need to steer their way back to recovery. To learn more about the treatment services offered at Lotus Recovery, contact our team today.

Two Tracks of Care to Help You Rebuild Your Life

One of the unique characteristics at Lotus Recovery is that we offer two distinct tracks of care: one for mental health and one for substance use. This allows us to offer care for both disorders while giving specialized attention to the root cause.

In many cases, individuals find that they’ve been using substances to cope with difficult emotions, forget about painful past events or self-treat the symptoms of mental illness. When they receive individualized and targeted care for their trauma or mental health disorder, recovering from substance use is made easier.

It’s also possible for substance use to lead to poor mental health. As an example, some people with depression drink alcohol to feel better. However, alcohol can lead to depression and worsen symptoms in people who already experience them. Therefore, treating the alcohol use disorder can also improve depression symptoms.

The treatment services we offer at Lotus Recovery include:

  • Group therapy. Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small group of individuals with similar issues meet regularly under the guidance of a trained therapist. They get to share their experiences, provide support and develop coping strategies.
  • Individual therapy. Another form of psychotherapy, individual therapy is where a person works one-on-one with a therapist to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The goal is to resolve personal issues and improve mental health.
  • Family therapy. Family therapy involves family members participating together under the guidance of a therapist to address and resolve conflicts, improve communication and strengthen relationships. It views the family as a single unit while recognizing each member’s need for independence.
  • Case management services. With case management services, individuals receive comprehensive support for issues outside of treatment, such as unemployment, disability, health insurance and childcare. The goal is to address the barriers to treatment so that the individual can focus on recovery.
  • Psychiatry. Psychiatry services diagnose, treat and prevent mental health and substance use disorders. Often, these services include medication management, psychotherapy and other therapeutic interventions to improve quality of life.
  • Medical services. Medical services encompass the diagnosis, treatment and management of mental health and substance use disorders. Services typically include medication management, therapy and integrated care.
  • Drug testing. Some individuals benefit from routine drug testing to maintain accountability, detect relapses early and ensure adherence to treatment plans. Drug testing is quick, easy and non-invasive.
  • Transcranial magnetic stimulation. TMS is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain, and is often used to treat depression when other treatments have failed.
  • Pharmacogenetic testing. This type of testing involves analyzing a person’s genetic makeup to predict their responses to specific medications, allowing for improved efficacy and fewer side effects.
  • Brain mapping. Brain mapping is a technique that uses advanced imaging technology to create detailed representations of the brain’s structure and function. This information can identify brain abnormalities, understand brain activity and guide precise treatment strategies.
